Chloe Frazer (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy)

Rae: It would have been very easy to make from Chloe Frazer at her first appearance in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves just "the other woman" in Nathan Drakes life. Instead, Naughty Dog present a great, multi-faceted character full of corners and edges that seemed a bit like a female version of Nathan - just a lot more exciting.

The greater the pleasure that she was finally allowed to play the deserved lead role in Lost Legacy and in me (despite all love to Nate) a little desire, I could have allowed her to play the whole series. Chloe is a thief with a heart of gold that does not want to admit that. Combined with your exciting cultural background and your plumb with the like that's also great Nadine I'm sad that Lost Legacy was just so short.

Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil series)

Eleen : Leon S. Kennedy is in Resident Evil 4, the first part I had played with him at that time, just a cool sock. Government agent, professional zombie killer and the guy with the coolest haircut, which I can not take seriously (the haircut, not the types.)

So right around he became a character for me but only when I picked up his originstory with the Resident Evil 2 Remake, which shows him not only as a young, somewhat uncertain police force (instead of the hard agent of later parts) but him as one of the few survivors From Racoon City also a damn credible motivation for its determination and sture gives way to the killing of zombies.

Viererblock (Tetris)

Tobi: Damn again, how many times have I cursed you. Because the gap was there, they were so perfect for you. Four empty places screamed formally thereafter to be filled to bring about this satisfying tetris moment. But like almost always, you just did not feel. Instead, your friends reduced from above. Cleveland Z and Rhode Island Z About, your staircase friends or smashboy, the thick log.

But I did not use as often as you, because you were a bit-wide this game for me, which I have played like so many spelled on my Gameboy deep into the night. Because if you came and the prerequisites were created, then for a short time that was the absolute fulfillment, a virtual dream. And only you made it possible, you Polyomino God, you perfect gap filler. No wonder, so that your official designation is "Hero" according to the instruction booklet. Because if there is a real hero, then you.

Ellie (The Last of Us)

Linda: "To The Edge of the Universe and Back. Endure and Survive". The 14-year-old Ellie from the first The Last of Us is one of my favorite video game characters at all. If not the sweetheart. Not only because she represents the perfect counterpart to the grumpy Joel with her snippish way. But also because she sees the Postaapokalyptic World of the Last of Us with completely different eyes than most other people who try to survive there every day.

At the beginning of the adventure, she almost shrinks through the world, tries to understand her, Joel annoys with her questions about life in front of the pandemic, while at the same time she must deal with the hard and merciless survival in the postalapalkalypse. This gives the figure a depth, which can hardly show another video game character from the triple-a range and makes it unforgettable.

Miles Morales (Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales)

Hannes : In the comics he had been a big number for a while, but in the world of video games, Miles Morales was a blank sheet. Spider-Man is Peter Parker and nobody else. His debut as a playable superhero, however, Miles have laid down with frames and not only new, playful incentives set, but above all a new, other Spider-Man presented.

With his special focus on the Harlem district he tries to be there for all inhabitants of New Yorks, which have it harder in everyday life than others. In combination with his sense of music and art, Miles is a superhero with unexpectedly much sensitivity.

Kassandra (Assassin's Creed Odyssey)

Linda : Kassandra is neither a particularly complex character nor has a lot to tell. Nevertheless, the Spartatin is one of me on every hero * indoor top list and that has a simple reason: Kassandra is wonderfully quirky. A large proportion of it carries the spokeswoman Melissanthi Mahut, which Kassandra not only gives a much sympathy with her voice, but also leaving nod and nonchalant.

And although Kassandra physically likely to be one of the most powerful heroines of the Assassin's Creed Universe. Exactly this contrast between pure force and lightweightness makes them so exciting. You could almost think, Kassandra is a bit like the female version of Son Goku from Dragon Ball. Adorable and at the same time so strong that you could push whole armies with the small teen of turn from a cliff.

Madeline (Celeste)

Dennis: That Celeste is matured for me to one of the best games of the past decade, Madeline and her darkest side Badeline have a huge share. You have to know that I have never played a 2D platform where I still made a lousy. Would not have been the struggle of the little heroine against her inner demons to achieve the irrepressible will to accept her goal despite all the adversities, to accept his past - I would have thrown the game frustrated by the hard disk. But hardly a second game combines the playful, the Kraxelei on the Mount Celeste, as well with his story: a poignant, hope of making history full of anger, grief and liberation.

Colleague David wrote a wonderful article about Madeline, in which he returned to the message of the game again. Do you have five minutes, you absolutely read it through:

Celestes Madeline shows: We can do almost everything when we close peace with us

goose (Untitled Goose Game)

Eleenen: One should almost mean that a goose that does not do much more than to chatter and other people hard to make life, on a list like this can not keep up with the personality strength of such a different character. But what the spring cattle can be missed on nuanced emotions, it makes up with Pure Elan again.

Garden tools Convention and pranks to the poor city dwellers, she sells the day and fulfills my inner child the desire for Chaos. After that, all the fun, harmless pranks to play, of which I always read in adventure books, but they could never perform themselves. And yet I can put on my goose a loop. I can not really demand more from a video game.

Amicia (A Plague Tale: Innocence)

Max: A Plague Tale was an absolute surprise for me. The reason for this is not only the excellent, gloomy medieval setting, but also in the protagonist Amicia de Rune. The young nobleman has to go through a lot of terrible in the course of the game and always keep an eye on her little brother who is to protect it.

However, Amicia is just a half child and the game manifestly managed to capture this contrast between her (initial) uncertainty and the terrible events credibly. Serious games from the view of children are rare, although it can be such an exciting viewing angle. Amicia is definitely one of the best examples in this area.

Red (transistor)

RAE: How well can a singer without a voice already be a character? Excellent, as Supergiant Games shows! Although I have not played transistor for years (the end to hurt), Red but never completely released me. And yes, of course, this also hangs together with their relationship with their sword, the narrator and title transistor (which is why I was trying to moggle him to this list, but psst!).

For many, Red only may be the vaultless vehicle for the narrator. What makes them for me but to such a strong character are all the nuances, the little things they still awakened to life. And her stubbornness, which finally took me the reins from his hand and showed me how much idealness ultimately put in her.

Nico Bellic (GTA 4)

Hannes: GTA protagonists are usually anarchical, criminal, magnificent, power hungry and go to corpses. And yes, to some extent, this also applies to Nico Bellic. The hero of GTA 4 is not the narrow-track gangster from next door, which finally also wants to depend on something from the big cake.

Nico is a Serbian War Veteran, which takes care of destitute as immigrant to the US and initially believes in the "American dream". Nicos Desillusion with regard to the US society and descent into the underworld makes more in terms of satire than the rest of the GTA offshoots together.

Alice (Alice: Madness Returns)

Rae: Alice in Wonderland fascinates me for a long time, both the original of Lewis Carroll as well as the countless interpretations of their history. One of my favorite versions of her is the Alice in Madness Returns, which shows a traumatized Alice in a gloomy, evil-spoiled wonderland - a mirror of her soul.

It is an Alice that has not survived her adventures in Wonderland without prejudice and constantly struggling what is real and what is not. Despite all the darkness and despair, it is full of hope, rigidity and combat spirit and so again as she is close to her children's book preview.

John Marston (Red Dead Redemption)

Hannes: John has always been different than Arthur Morgan - this applies to RDR 2 as well as for the first Red Dead Redemption. Rather equipped with a rebellious vein, it drives John Marston faster to altlaces and to lonely rides through the prairie.

How well that he did in the end may be doubted, but with his kind, John fills out the classical ideas of an Outlaw's Wild West. The stranger with the Golden Heart, who rides in cities, leans equally with gangsters and government and somehow always comes from it. Well, almost always.

TIFA LOCKHART (FINAL FANTASY 7 + REMAKE)

Irina: A cliché that keeps us on in RPGS, the poor virgin is needed, which must be saved from her hero. The final fantasy series is not free. But the person who has broken this cliché for me for the most part is Tifa. Finally there is someone who not only acts as a magician or healer in the background.

Even if I have nothing against these two classes, it will quickly see repetitious female characters in these roles. Therefore, it is all the refreshing woman to find a woman who can help the opponents literally in the face. Although that sounds brutal now, TIFE chooses her fighting aware and retains her femininity and kindness.

Bigby (The Wolf Among US)

Rae: The Wolf Among us is my absolute favorite Telltal game and one of the reasons is Bigby Aka the great evil wolf. He is a character full of contradictions that has no problems to apply violence to reach his goal, but at the same time a proportionate, warm side. How many other video game characters (or male heroes in general) he honors with himself and his past.

His need as Sheriff to help the residents of Fabletown, although he was responsible for so much of their suffering in the past. This conflict is all the more clear, depending on how Bigby is played. But no matter what dialogue option I ultimately decide, he is and remains one of these rough characters that try to hide your heart from gold for which I have a weakness.

Conker (Conker's Bad Fur Day)

Tobi: Conker has become one of the most hardway characters for me, especially due to contrast. For initially Conker's Bad for Day was planned as a cuddly-cuddly and child-friendly Jump & Run before Rare threw everything over the pile and the squirrel to a bad mutant, gross, scolding, regularly drunken and otherwise not really youthful protagonists mutated.

But though, for that, many of them could move in - too - too - wonderfully in Conker, because the little guy stumbled in Bad for Day after a nightly night of a curious situation in the next and did not want to go home. And in particular, this contrast "sweet appearance - fist thick behind the ears" Conker makes a compulsory space on this list.

Alyx Vance (Half-Life 2)

Mark: Meanwhile, it's long enough to admit it: I was a Bisserl in love with Alyx Vance from Half-Life. But Hey, why should I go better than Gordon Freeman?! Finally, Alyx is intelligent, self-employed, funny and gives Gordon with the Gravity Gun one of the best weapons of game history. Above all, she is not just "the pretty daughter" of the scientist Eli Vance, but a standalone figure.

Alyx fights as a resistor against the combine oppressors. As a turner, she builds her mechanical dog Dog to the intelligent killer machine. At the same time, however, she also has an emotional side and, for example, the death of her father in Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Whoever wants to get to know you, plays the - unfortunately PC-exclusive - VR Shooter Half-Life: Alyx, the Showing years in resistance.

Edith Finch (What Remains of Edith Finch)

Dennis: The story around Edith and her family is no doubt about the most moving, which we have ever experienced in a video game. And without Edith, over which we learn comparatively little, we would never be so deeply immersed in the tragic story.

Edith is not the classic heroine, as we often find them in our list, it's more of the perfect red thread, the perfect vehicle to reproduce the tragic lives of their loved ones. Through these sad insights, we build an ever stronger relationship with her and have viewed the credits at the decisive, but quite obvious twist gene at the end of a long time.
