Project 007: James Bond
Since last year, the Danish Developer Studio IO Interactive is being worked on a James Bond game. GamesIndustry's employees now led an interview with high-ranking representatives of the film production company MGM, which have the rights to the James Bond brand.
Brand should be expanded
The boss for global consumer products clearly made it clear that it is not about the quick money: For example, if you look at James Bond, then we need a console partner who helps us to tell this story. And in the quality that the fans expect. We are not here to make quick money, we are here to expand the brand.
According to Matthew Suser, the goal of the 007 project is to create an authentic James Bond adventure. The brand is intended to be the best possible advantage by the gameplay. The responsible persons have opted for cooperation with the Hitman developer because they can look on far-reaching experience in the area of stealth and agent games.
It all matters to find the right development partner. IO is the authority for Stealth and agent games, so that they were really a dream of a studio with which one could work together with James Bond, says Suser.
A Game Director of IO Interactive said at the beginning of the year that they are aware of great responsibility. For this reason, another studio was opened in Sweden and the number of employees doubled. However, because the project is still in an early stage of development, the release will be able to wait a long time.
